“For the sake of a single child, I would have founded the Society of the Sacred Heart”
St Madeleine Sophie Barat, foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (RSCJ )

Sacré Cœur is committed to the development of each student’s individual abilities to the highest degree possible. Our School community is therefore pleased to offer a range of scholarships across various year levels and study areas.

Our School also believes in encouraging an inclusive and diverse student community and living our Sacred Heart values. We therefore also offer a limited number of bursaries annually to students whose families may not otherwise be able to afford a Sacré Cœur education.

Our bursaries and scholarships are funded in part by the School in conjunction with the Sacré Cœur Foundation, supported by the generous donations of alumnae, parents, past parents, staff and community supporters, through special fundraising initiatives.

PCW Compassionate Bursaries

To assist PCW families looking to continue their daughter’s education within a Catholic girls’ school, we are offering a limited number of Compassionate Bursaries for PCW students entering Years 10, 11 and 12 in 2020. Find out more.

Kathleen McCarthy Bursary

The Kathleen McCarthy Bursary gives a young woman the opportunity to be educated in the Sacred Heart tradition.

Awarded to a student commencing Year 7 studies in 2020, the Bursary will fund 75% of tuition fees to a family who may not otherwise be able to afford a Sacré Cœur education. It is available for students currently enrolled and those who wish to attend the School.

The bursary has been established in the name of Kathleen McCarthy, a leading light of the Sacré Cœur community in her roles as educator, Deputy Principal, parent, School Board director and supporter.

She also served on the Foundation’s Bequest sub-committee and the Alumnae Association’s Janet Stuart Bursary committee. The Kathleen McCarthy Bursary encapsulates her belief in and passion for the Sacred Heart goal – Social Awareness that Impels to Action.

St Madeleine Sophie Barat Bursaries

“For the sake of a single child, I would have founded the Society of the Sacred Heart”.

St Madeleine Sophie Bursaries Bursaries build and extend our community, and affirm our commitment to the Sacred Heart goal – Social Awareness that Impels to Action, by offering educational opportunities through financial assistance to new families.

St Madeleine Sophie Barat, (RSCJ foundress) believed in the personal strength and conviction in forming both a student’s character and intellect as she saw the importance of bringing together our head and heart in all we do. We carry on her challenge to be the best versions of ourselves and to care for each individual. This remains a pivotal lens through which we live out social justice and the Sacred Heart values at Sacré Cœur.

Drawing on the vision of all our RSCJ Wisdom Women, we are encouraged to care for the vulnerable and to respond to the challenging issues of our time because it is our gift and responsibility to do so. The School endeavours to assist as many families as possible with partial remission of tuition fees only, for eligible families.

Each bursary is reviewed annually in regards to the family’s financial position. The financial details and names of all bursary applicants and recipients remain confidential.
