Our Pastoral program is a sequential program incorporating a thematic approach to student social and emotional wellbeing.
Reporting to the Director of Student Wellbeing or Head of Joigny (Junior School), the Student Wellbeing team comprises a full-time Counsellor and a part-time Creative Arts Therapist who are available to our students as part of the student social and emotional wellbeing program.
The Student Welfare Officer is a fully registered Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). The role of the Student Wellbeing Service at Sacré Cœur is to provide a counselling service for students and support for parents and teachers in respect to students.
Being a specialist in the area of children and adolescents, the Student Welfare Officer is especially familiar with the issues that are likely to emerge across the development period. Counselling may also be seen as a preventative process aimed at enhancing resilience, stress management, study skills and health management, to name a few.
