School Board

Governance and planning

Sacré Cœur is governed by its School Board. In 1982, Sacré Cœur became an incorporated body and the Society entrusted to the Directors of Sacré Cœur the conduct of the School which had been carried on by the Society since its establishment in 1888. The School Board consists of eleven members approved by the Provincial Superior.

The Board is responsible for:

  • determining overall policy for Sacré Cœur within the tradition and philosophy of the Goals and Criteria a Sacred Heart education
  • the appointment of the Principal with the approval of the Provincial
  • the financial control of the School
  • long term planning
  • formulating and monitoring an annual budget.

Committees consisting of persons with particular expertise, who need not be Directors, assist the Board. Current Committees are Building and Planning, Education, Special Projects, Finance and Audit, and Foundation.
