French, Japanese and Latin

As a school with a distinctive French culture, French is studied from Prep and the School has an impressive retention record of girls studying languages to VCE.

In 2011, 52% of the Year 11 cohort are studying a VCE language.

In addition to French, all Year 7 students study Japanese.

At Year 9, students may choose to continue with French or Japanese, or both.  Or, they may elect to commence the study of Latin.

International Exchanges to Sacred Heart sister schools in both Japan and France are available from Year 10.

Study tours for students in Years 9 to 12  to Japan and New Calendonia are organised every second year to complement the studies of French and Japanese and to provide a true cultural immersion experience.
