Debating
Many refer to debating as the cerebral sport and large numbers of Sacré Cœur students participate in the DAV (Debater's Association of Victoria) competition.
Debating is a worthwhile activity that fosters general knowledge and awareness and understanding about how the world works; poise in public speaking; and the ability to think on one's feet. Equally significant though is the fact that the girls work in teams, learning from one another, offering one another support and encouragement, and developing a real appreciation for one another's strengths and skills.
In 2008, Sacre Coeur was a host school with and schools from all across the region travelled to Burke Road to engage in vigorous intellectual debate.
