Sacré Cœur Women Shape the World
In this, our year of Building Community as a Christian Value, Sacré Cœur is introducing the St Madeleine Sophie Bursaries. “For the sake of a single child, I would have founded the Society of the Sacred Heart”. These Bursaries are a further way of building and extending our community, and affirm our commitment to the Sacred Heart goal of A Social Awareness that Impels to Action, by offering educational opportunities through financial assistance to new families.
St Madeleine Sophie Barat, (RSCJ foundress) believed in the personal strength and conviction in forming both a student’s character and intellect as she saw the importance of bringing together our head and heart in all we do. She would challenge us to be our best version of ourselves and focus on others, reminding us to care for each individual. This remains a pivotal lens through which we live out our social justice and Sacred Heart values at Sacré Cœur.
Drawing on the vision of all our RSCJ Wisdom Women, we are encouraged to care for the vulnerable and to respond to the challenging issues of our time because it is our gift and responsibility to do so. The School endeavours to assist as many families as possible with partial remission of tuition fees only, for eligible families.
Each bursary is reviewed annually in regards to the family’s financial position. The financial details and names of all bursary applicants and recipients remain confidential.
